Retail Ready: What It Really Takes to Get Stocked

Two founders. Two beauty brands. One honest conversation about growing a business that stands out and what it really takes to get noticed (and stocked) by the retailers that matter.

What Does It All Mean?

Selling, scaling or taking on investment, whatever stage you're at, business conversations can come with their own language. Our Women of Influence glossary explains the terms that matter, so you can make decisions with confidence.

Retail Ready: What It Really Takes to Get Stocked

If you would like to join this in-person event, please register. Due to the interactive nature of this seminar, we are unable to offer this online.

What does it take to turn a single idea - born in a clinic, a salon, or a quiet moment of frustration -  into a beauty brand that’s recognised, respected, and sold in some of the most iconic stores on the high street?

And when you finally land that meeting, or that shelf space… what happens next?

In this intimate fireside conversation, two trailblazing founders - Margaret Dabbs OBE, creator of the globally recognised foot and hand care brand, and Vanita Parti MBE, founder of BBB London and the pioneer who brought threading to the UK mainstream, share what they’ve learned about scaling brands, opening doors, and navigating the often difficult dance with retail.

Together, they’ll explore what it means to build something lasting:

  • How do you know when to grow?

  • What does a “yes” from a major retailer actually mean behind the scenes?

  • What are the mistakes no one sees - and the moments they still think about?

This is not a panel. It’s a conversation. With honesty, humour, and a glass in hand.

Expect reflections on resilience, brand identity, first hires and hard lessons and leave with practical insight into how strong businesses scale from service room to shop floor.
